My thoughts/What I think?
My reasons for giving this book 5 stars.
First- this is a Brandon Sanderson book. And second- Fantasy is my favorite genre. When you mix the above two reasons you get a book that is so amazing, mind blowing, because after reading this you are left with so many emotions, it rattles your mind. For the sake of discussion I am going to call this a review which is anything but.
I enjoyed reading Alloy of Law, but this book 'Shadows of Self' took center stage. Like every single character was my favorite. Even blunt and bland Steris made her way into my heart. The one thing I did throughout the read was laugh like tears of joy kind of laugh. Wayne, he was he was...words fail me at this moment. He was that good. The plot was amazing, world building (child don't speak about world building, Sanderson fans will curse you and make your life in internet unforgivable), action was awesome, magic system-totally agreeable and understandable, characters- I want to say no there were certain character whom I didn't like or couldn't connect, then I would be lying. Every Single Character were just genuine in their own weird way. And man, the whole time I was feeling nostalgic at the mention of the old characters from old mistborn trilogy, I was like damn I want to read about them again (which I am going to do anyway). Every dialogue which left from the characters mouth were epic. Finishing even a single chapter was a battle of will between fit of laughter and dry humor because of the situation the Main characters found themselves in. And the bromance between Wax and Wayne is just so adorable.
I am left with foreboding about what to expect from 'Bands of Mourning' because of the ending we are left with.
I loved everything about this book. PEOPLE If you haven't read a Brandon Sanderson book, What are you doing with your life... It is wasted. Like drop everything you are doing or were going to do and just pick up a Sanderson book. And thank you whoever read this 'review' till the end because lets be real this was me fangirling about Sanderson books and mind you will do so in the future.
READ IT.
