Summary:

Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.

Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?

What I think?/ My thoughts:

This book was soooo DELICIOUS.

The story picks up right after the The Young Elites ends. Adelina and her sister, Violetta is on the run from the Inquisitions Axis but she is adamant on her revenge. She is recruiting other Elites to form a society of her own, so that she can take down Teren Santaro and the Inquisitions Axis.

“I pledge myself to the Rose Society until the end of my days, to use my eyes to see all that happens, my tongue to woo other to our side, my ears to hear every secret, my hands to crush my enemies. I will do everything in my power to destroy all who stand in my way.”

She thinks she is trying to help the other malfettos but her darkness stirs her away from that path towards power. Towards the Throne of Kenettra. Her powers are turning on her. Her powers feed on hate and terror, whispering away inside her mind. She is losing herself to the Darkness, losing control over her powers frequently. Adelina grows as a Character but not in the way we hope. She is taken up a notch from the previous book because here she is more twisted and cruel. Her heart is cold. She doesn't feel anything anymore except to overthrow Queen of Kenettra and her vengeance on the Daggers Society who cast her out.

I love Villains.

I mean "The JOKER" is my all time favourite. So it was no surprise that I loved the first volume in the trilogy. And I knew even before reading, that I will also love-love-love the second volume.

There was lots of tension and action going on. New characters and love interest were emerging. And the best part I felt was that the new characters were okay, easy to connect. Not forced upon us.

Favourite Quotes:

"Someday, when I am nothing but dust and wind, what tale will they tell about me?"

"Adelina, why do you blame yourself for Enzo's death?
Why feel guilty for something that isn't your fault?
Because I loved him. And now he is gone."

"It is nice, being powerful. Seeing others bend to your will. I imagine this must be how kings and queens feel that with just a few words, they can ignite a war or enslave an entire population. This must be what I fantasized about as a little girl, crouching on the stairs of my old home, pretending to wear a heavy crown on my head and look out at a sea of kneeling figures."

"But true rulers are not born. We are made."

I loved "The Young Elites" so much but I like this even more.
Right now, MARIE LU IS MAGIC . I enjoyed reading this books so so much. It had everything I was expecting and got more. The revelation at the end chapters was quite heart breaking. What Revelation? For that you will have to read this book. The direction in which this book is going I can't say for sure what the author has planned. Whatever it is, I know that it will be phenomenal. The book does not end in a cliffhanger but sure do leaves you with "what will happen next?"

I want to share so many thing but NO CAN DO. We Don't spoilers here.
Guys you have to read this. Best book for those who generally like to read dark themes.

Me AFTER I read THE ROSE SOCIETY:

That's it. I AM DONE. I Can't wait for the third and final in the trilogy.

YOU people are in for devilishly delicious treat. Highly Recommended.
